    Great points! I am a hot yoga teacher and always give my students the empowerment to drink their water and leave the room, in addition to sharing symptoms of heat exhaustion so that they can feel any warning signs as early as possible. Humidity plays a huge role in safety also. I would encourage someone to try hot yoga only after they have a solid regular-temp practice in vinyasa style. Still, there isn't a lot of research into the long term safety of hot yoga, and many if not most teachers are not trained to identify heat stroke, like you touched on. Keep your eye on the thermostat, and if the room gets hotter than a low grade fever (higher than 100), I’d personally consider that too hot - think about it, fevers are bad! Generally though, people are able to build heat tolerance fairly quickly, and as long as you are very gentle to yourself in the first few classes, hot yoga starts to feel just like doing regular exercise, but with very rewarding results! Be safe out there ❤️

    day 1: just started and way high in my splits Day 2: same as day 1 day 3: got significalently lower in my spilts day 4: very low

    My baby is 5 months old. After pregnancy i was at 135. After 5 months i have gained 4 lbs so now the scale says 139. My husband and i only eat out if its a holiday/birthday. We always cook at home and they are always healthy meals. I exclusively breastfed my 5 month old yet i am gaining weight. What could be causing this? He is my 3rd baby. I never had this problem with the other two. I was able to maintain my weight but with my 3rd seems like my weight is slowing creeping up.

    Hi Liz. Is is super important the warmup to get the splits or can it be skipped if some previous legs fitness training and cardio is done? I am breast feeding my baby and i find it very difficult to stay in the gym for long sometimes my partner phones me because my baby woke up and needs to be feed so i am trying to do as much as i can in a shorter time i my daily training session. What do you think? Thank you :)
